Meet Lori Santa Maria, LAC-T

Hi, I’m Lori Santa Maria, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC-T) in Arizona. I specialize in Adult ADHD, anxiety and depression disorders, life-transitions, women’s issues, sports performance and mental health for athletes.

My therapeutic style is genuine, transparent, motivating and collaborative. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are and developing goals and treatment plans to help them be the best versions of themselves. I use an integrative evidence-based approach that meets the unique needs of my clients that may include Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments for adults 18-65 years of age and student-athletes over 14 years old.

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Arizona State University. I’m also a former collegiate athlete and coach, and sports continue to be an important part of my life. My background gives me a unique understanding of the pressures athletes can experience—from performance anxiety and confidence to motivation, burnout, injury, and balancing life both on and off the field. I enjoy helping athletes strengthen their mental skills while remembering something equally important: you are a person first and an athlete second. My work experience includes being a part of Canfield Counseling, Arizona Restorative Psychiatry, Red Cross Disaster Relief Team and a program director for youth sports.

I’m excited to join Bloom & Breathe Therapy and reunite with a supervision team that brings warmth, intellect and passion to the therapeutic process. When I’m not in the office, one of my favorite places to be is on the sidelines cheering for my son. I also love camping, paddle-boarding, traveling, spending time outdoors, and pretty much anything that keeps me active. If you're looking for an Adult ADHD therapist in Arizona or support for anxiety, depression, life transitions, or sports mental health, I’d love the opportunity to meet you.

I receive direct clinical supervision by AZBBHE-approved supervisors, Virginia Kuhn, MA LPC, and Taylor Oberhelman-McLeod, MA LPC.
