Hi, I’m Lori Santa Maria
I am preparing to become a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC-T) in Arizona and will begin providing counseling services at Bloom & Breathe Therapy once I receive my LAC-T license. I plan to specialize in adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, women’s issues, and sports mental health. I will offer in-person and telehealth counseling for adults ages 18–65 and student-athletes ages 14 and older.
My therapeutic style is genuine, collaborative, and motivating. I use an integrative, evidence-based approach that draws from Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). My goal is to help clients strengthen their resilience, build confidence, and support their emotional wellness.
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Arizona State University. As a former collegiate athlete and coach, I understand the unique pressures athletes may experience. I believe strongly that athletes are people first and athletes second.
My professional and community experience includes Canfield Counseling, Arizona Restorative Psychiatry, the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, and youth sports programming. Outside the office, I enjoy cheering on my son, camping, paddleboarding, traveling, and staying active outdoors.
Once I am licensed and begin practicing at Bloom & Breathe Therapy, I will receive direct clinical supervision from AZBBHE-approved supervisors Virginia Kuhn, MA, LPC, and Taylor Oberhelman-McLeod, MA, LPC.
